3. still doll (music box version)
This is her debut single from celloist and vocalist Kanon Wakeshima. Her debut single was produced by Mana, guitarist of Malice Mizer/Moi dix Mois. Track 1, still doll, was the ending theme for the anime Vampire Knight (which features my fave seiryuu, Mamoru Miyano *insert fangirly squeals*). With the cello included in, it gives the song a dark and mysterious feel; coupled with the sounds of a music box, it does suit the title very well. A creepy doll-like theme but beautiful. Track 2, Kuroi torikago, is a more upbeat song with an electronica feel. Of course, the sounds of her cello is present so it becomes an interesting fusion of classical elements with electronica. I’m not sure if this would sit well with a lot of people but I think it’s interesting.
